Alaska Ironkids Aquathlon at the Ateneo de Manila Grade School Compound

IronKids Philippines is the local junior version of the international triathlon series, Ironman, which is open to children 6 to 14 years old. This competition is open to kids who are new to the sport and those who have already joined other triathlon events.

Alaska IronKids aims to promote a healthy lifestyle for kids to love outdoor sports instead of staying inside their houses playing computer games or being addicted to social networking. Through this endeavor, they will also value sportsmanship and camaraderie among other kids as well as having fun with their parents who support them in the activity.

Last Sunday, we were invited to witness these kids as they competed in an aquathlon held at the Ateneo de Manila Grade School area. After finishing the race in swimming and running, you can see smiles on their faces, attesting that hard work and determination can achieve anything; especially for those children who won in their respective age category.

Kudos to Alaska Milk Corporation who never fail promoting different sports to Filipino children for them to embrace active lifestyle and healthy competition.
