1st Cycle Philippines on November 2013

I’m missing the days when I used to joining large group cycling for a cause or bike rides with friends. We used to frequent CCP and Mall of Asia grounds in Pasay City every Saturday mornings covering about 50KM from house, circling MOA grounds and then back in Manila. Every year, I join 5,000 to 7,000 bikers of all ages, with different types of bicycles traversing at least five cities in Metro Manila to campaign for clean air, care for the environment and provisions of safe bike lanes around the Metro by the local government.

But since 2009, a year after my better-half introduced me to running, I also stopped cycling with these groups. My remaining free time, which is not that much, were focused on group running, trial run for some trail routes and road races. The mountain bike that I usually borrow from my wife is now sitting in the backyard and now rusting.

Just the other day, I noticed that neglected bike again and told to myself that I need to rehabilitate it and change the parts that need to be changed. Saving quickly for some bucks to do that is now a challenge, ‘coz allowing it to sit there for additional months, will surely land it to a junk shop. After getting this press release from my inbox, I realized that it’s really high time for me to fix my wife’s bike so I can borrow it again, she is blaming me now for its current state. 😦

Please read on as the good news for all runner-biker out there that this event will soon take its place starting from BGC in Taguig City. Did I say that this thrilling event will be organized by Sunrise Events, the same people behind Ironman 70.3 Philippines, 5150 and Xterra Off-Road races?
