Seven out of 295 young basketball players in Baguio City and nearby provinces were selected 15th of March 2015 to join the National Training Camp in Manila on April 11-12, 2015.

The stringent selection process was held in St. Louis University Laboratory High School, Baguio City by Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA evaluation committee headed by PBA legend, Coach Rodney Santos.

Some participants were anxious while some were excited during the registration as well as during the announcement of who will be chosen among the 295 players. It was a surprise also for the coaches that they attracted 24 girl participants to join the selection.

An awesome experience to witness these aspiring kids, some with accompanying parents supporting them, trying to get a slot in a level-up training camp in Manila come next month.

Jr. NBA / Jr. WNBA team from the Philippines joined their foreign counterparts in Beijing last year where they got the chance to watch an NBA game and meet up close some of its celebrity players like Yao Ming.

Alaska is really helping the country grow a nation of champions by providing world-class sports training, as great things were imparted to these young ballers by their coaches. They didn’t just acquired physical skills in the sport, but mentally, the importance of attitude, discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect were instilled on them.
